A Goose story

Goose: "Mom, you know how you said I couldn' t mow the lawn..."

Mom: "well, yea" (not by yourself anyway)

Goose: "I'm feeling really crestfallen about that."

Mom: (somewhat surprised that he felt that way and REALLY surprised at his choice of words) "I'm really sorry you're so upset about that."

Goose: (long pause) "Actually I just said that to see if you knew what crestfallen meant."

All I could do was shake my head and laugh. Benson has a habit of using words that I don't think belong in mainstream society anymore. Mainly because people like *ME* have no idea what they mean and I really don't like to feel stupid. Like father, like son. At least I knew what this word meant.

I laughed so hard when I read this. All I have to say is it gets worse. Stephen comes up with some interesting words too, but he mispronounces them, because he has only read them, so he uses the vocab rules correctly, but the word has some twist to it. Have a dictionary handy!!!
