Small improvements

Monday went a little better for Daniel. Still frustrations, but we have to see the positive, right! His morning feeding was the best yet as far as I could tell. The dumb scale said otherwise, but I choose not to dwell on that. They ended up giving him a significant amount via his NG tube anyway to please the doctors... and his next feeding was a total bust. I couldn't get him to eat for the life of me, so... NG again. ugh. Anyway, I was grateful for the good feeding. We had one more good feeding that again was frustrated by the scale, but I can see he is doing better. His jaundice seems to be leveling off, and he was very alert and awake for the good feedings.
Hoping for another day of small improvements....

Progress is progress no matter what the scale says...mom knows best! Austin looks so big next to little Daniel. What a fun picture of the brothers!

Those doctors always overfeed the newborns. They feed them way too much and way too often. Every child is different, but the have set rules for every child. Daniel will get well enough soon. Then you can take him home and let him go at his pace.

I was wondering what was happening. We are thinking of you. Life must be pretty crazy. Please take care of yourself, so hard to do in this situation. We love you, and can't wait to see my new nephew!!

Hi it's Julie's sister, Nancy. I had my little boy, Robert, at 35 weeks exactly by emergency C-Section and he had to stay in the NICU too. He was there for about 2 weeks. His lungs weren't developed enough, he had an infection, and he had to go under the lights too. He also was a slow eater. It will get better I promise. Just hang in there!
